Frequently Asked Questions
How can we help you?
General
1. What is Trade Assurance?
Trade Assurance is an independent assessment of an international transaction designed to reduce commercial, operational, financial, and counterparty risks before money changes hands or goods are shipped. It provides decision-makers with an objective evaluation of the transaction and practical recommendations to help avoid costly mistakes.
2. What does AME Assurance do?
AME Assurance helps organizations reduce the risks associated with international trade by independently reviewing counterparties, transactions, payment arrangements, documentation, suppliers, and other commercial risks before critical business decisions are made.
3. What makes AME different from a consulting firm?
Traditional consultants provide advice on business strategy or operations. AME Assurance focuses specifically on reducing risk in cross-border commercial transactions through independent verification, structured analysis, and practical recommendations.
4. Is AME an inspection company?
No.
Inspection companies examine products or shipments. AME Assurance evaluates the entire transaction, including counterparties, payment structures, commercial arrangements, documentation, operational capability, and transaction risks.
5. Is AME a law firm?
No.
We do not provide legal advice or legal opinions. Where legal expertise is required, we work alongside the client’s legal advisers while focusing on commercial and transaction risks.
6. Is AME an auditing firm?
No.
We do not perform financial audits or accounting assurance. Our role is to provide independent Trade Assurance relating to international commercial transactions.
Counterparty Verification
7. Why should I verify a company if it is legally registered?
A legal registration confirms that a company exists. It does not confirm that it is financially stable, operationally capable, properly managed, or suitable for your transaction.
8. Can you verify suppliers anywhere in the world?
Our primary coverage is Asia and the Middle East. Through our international partner network we are able to support clients in additional jurisdictions where reliable verification resources are available.
9. Do you visit factories?
Where appropriate, factory verification is performed through approved local partners operating under the AME Assurance Protocol.
10. What information do you verify?
Depending on the engagement, we review legal registration, ownership, management, operational capability, certifications, reputation, litigation, sanctions exposure, financial indicators, and other relevant commercial information.
Transactions
11. When should I contact AME?
The best time is before signing contracts, transferring funds, issuing Letters of Credit, appointing distributors, selecting suppliers, or shipping goods.
12. Can you review contracts?
We review contracts from a commercial risk perspective. Legal interpretation remains the responsibility of qualified legal counsel.
13. Can you review payment arrangements?
Yes.
We assess payment structures and identify practical risks before funds are transferred.
14. Do you guarantee a transaction is safe?
No.
No organization can guarantee the outcome of an international transaction.
We provide an independent assessment based on verified information available at the time of the engagement together with practical recommendations for reducing risk.
15. What is the AME Executive Opinion?
It is our final independent assessment of the transaction, providing an overall risk rating together with one of four recommendations:
Proceed
Proceed with Conditions
Delay Pending Further Verification
Do Not Proceed
Payment Security
16. Can you verify overseas bank accounts?

Where possible, we independently verify beneficiary information and assess whether payment instructions present unusual or elevated risks.
17. Can you help prevent payment fraud?
We help clients reduce the risk of payment fraud by independently reviewing payment instructions and identifying inconsistencies or warning signs before funds are transferred.
18. Do you recommend payment methods?
Yes.
We provide practical guidance regarding commercially appropriate payment structures based on the nature of the transaction.
Supplier Verification
19. Can you verify manufacturing capability?
Yes.
Supplier verification includes an assessment of operational capability, production facilities, certifications, and other relevant commercial factors.
20. Can you inspect products?
Product inspection is performed through qualified inspection partners where required. AME coordinates the process as part of the overall Trade Assurance engagement.
Confidentiality
21. Will my information remain confidential?
Yes.
Confidentiality is one of AME Assurance’s core principles. Client information is never disclosed without authorization except where required by law.
22. Do you sign Non-Disclosure Agreements?
Yes.
We are happy to enter into mutual confidentiality agreements before commencing an engagement.
Reports
23. What do your reports include?
Reports typically include an executive summary, methodology, findings, risk analysis, recommendations, and the AME Executive Opinion.
24. How long does a typical review take?
Depending on complexity, most standard engagements are completed within three to five business days.
Urgent reviews may be completed sooner where circumstances permit.
25. Do you issue certificates?
We issue AME Assurance Opinions and verification reports. These are independent professional opinions rather than guarantees or regulatory certificates.

Working With AME
31. How do we begin?
Contact AME with a summary of your proposed transaction.
We will review your requirements, define the scope of work, and provide a confidential engagement proposal.
32. Can you work with our existing advisers?
Yes.
Our role complements lawyers, banks, insurers, freight forwarders, inspection companies, and other professional advisers.
33. Do you represent buyers or sellers?
We may represent either party, provided there is no conflict of interest.
Our duty is always to the client who has engaged us.
34. What happens if you identify serious risks?
We explain the findings, assess their potential impact, and recommend practical options for managing those risks before the transaction proceeds.
35. Why should we engage AME before every major international transaction?
Because the cost of independent verification is usually insignificant compared with the financial, operational, and reputational consequences of making the wrong decision.
